JJ Churchill is proud to have run an apprenticeship programme for over 80 years.
Whilst the content of our apprenticeships has evolved, apprentice-trained machine operators and engineers remain core to supporting our technical competence. JJ Churchill’s Mechanical Advanced Training Plan is a four-year apprenticeship with options to progress onto Technical Support NVQ Level 3, HND or Degree.
In the first three years, apprentices may be based in the Tool Room, the Maintenance Department or in the machine shop environment. Apprentices safely acquiring a broad set of new skills is our key objective and we encourage individual development in all areas of our business, such as engineering, production, non-destructive testing and metrology.
After completing their course, many of our apprentices have gone on to further academic achievement, obtaining HNC, HND and degree-level qualifications. Notably, most of our engineering team and senior management have come through the apprenticeship route.
