Flywheel

Equipment used by our armed forces must function with absolute reliability in a wide variety of adverse environments.  This flywheel for a military diesel engine will ultimately see service in an armoured-personnel carrier.  Consistently machining a tough, specialist grade of steel brings forward a number of challenges, but this component illustrates the deliberate selection of high-value added, but difficult, niches in which we compete.
